Brackets
If you plan to compete at Street Drags, please read through this page before entering, and understand how brackets are built.
Your Bracket is determined by Tech Officials, prior to entering track (outside pit entrance where you purchase your pit pass). If you have any questions contact them. They are located in the staging area. Additional Brackets may be added. NOTE: You may be moved up a Bracket if we determine your vehicle does not meet the parameters of the current bracket you are participating in. Be honest with the Tech Officials about what you have in your vehicle, or what you have done to your vehicle. This makes it more fun for everyone. Relax and have fun!
Registration fee per bracket: $10
MINOR’S RELEASE FORM – FOR EVERYONE UNDER AGE 18 MUST BE PRINTED IN COLOR, DO NOT BEND!
The Street Drag Brackets have been changed to meet the ever changing style of cars that compete. In an effort to better match compeitors, several new brackets have been added to the popular to the event.
The “vehicles” will compete on the 300 ft strip, all others (cycles, ATV, etc) will be on a 275 ft strip. Joining popular brackets such as Detroit Iron and the Four Wheel Drive Diesel Class will be six new bracket. These new brackets will be split some of the old brackets used in the past, some will be brand new. These new brackets will reflect what the other venues (Madison International Speedway and the Milwaukee Mile) are running for brackets.
The first group of classes will now find newer domestic name plate vehicles including Mustangs, Corvettes, modern muscle cars and domestic models from the 1980’s and 1990’s grouped into one of three Domestic Performance Classes. The all new Domestic Performance Street, Domestic Performance 400 and Domestic Performance 550+ will group cars by like horsepower with the street and 400 brackets allowing DOT tires only and the 550+ allowing either street or drag tires. “We found that these new brackets allow more car enthusiasts to compete and have fun. Whether you have a Monte Carlo, a Mustang or a Hellcat, these new brackets will allow you to go up against other makes of like power” stated the Madison Street Drag Promoter Gregg McKarns. “We are glad that all the venues are now in sync with the brackets and with the LaCrosse Drags making the changes, it will keep these event fresh and put some consistency to the events.”
Three all new brackets this year will be the Electric Power, Speedy SUV/AWD and Euro Performance. With Tesla’s starting to become common in the greater market, the electric powered class will wrangle that new technology into a bracket of their own. Likewise, with more and more SUV and AWD vehicles looking to partake in the fun, the Speedy SUV/AWD bracket becomes a landing spot for those. The sixth and final new bracket is the Euro Performance class for European name plates such as Mercedes and BMW.
